Producers with a finished track already sitting in the vault can put a different kind of track out this month: Warner Records has opened the stems for DA TI's "Take Me There" to remixers through SKIO, with an official release chance and $3,350 in studio prizes on the table.
The brief is simple. Download the official stems, build a remix in whatever direction fits, and submit before the October 6 deadline. "Take Me There" has racked up roughly 15 million Spotify streams and nearly 15 million lyric-video views since its April release, giving a winning remix real reach beyond the contest itself.
For a producer who normally ghost-writes for other artists, a remix credit under a major-label contest is a rare shot at getting a name, or an alias, in front of an A&R team directly, and the entry costs nothing beyond studio time.
