Native Instruments' Massive XL is out now at an introductory $99 (€99 / £89) until December 31, 2026, half its regular $199 price. Massive X owners can update for $49 and owners of the original Massive can crossgrade for $79 during the same window.
Massive XL replaces Massive X as NI's flagship synth. The headline addition is a Preset Generator that turns an audio reference into a playable, fully editable patch, with stem separation built in. A Mutator creates variations of a sound while keeping the parts you like, and the Morpher and Animator let you build movement and carry it across presets.
On the sound side there are more than 100 new wavetables, including material from the original Massive and classic PPG content, plus custom wavetables made from your own samples. Raum, Replika Shimmer and Tape Wobble are built in as effects, alongside polyphonic aftertouch support, real-time modulation display and undo/redo history.
