Insomniac's Discovery Project is running an open DJ/producer contest for Dreamstate 2026, the trance festival returning to Southern California on November 20-21. One winner, hand-picked by the Insomniac team and guest judges Above & Beyond, gets a performance slot at the festival plus an artist pass and a guest pass, a night of hotel accommodation, and a spot in a Cosmic Academy production and business course.
Entries are open now through Friday, October 2 at 5:00pm PT via the official contest page. There's no purchase or fee required, but entrants must be 18 or the legal age of majority in their state, and based in the US.
For a trance producer sitting on a finished track with nowhere to put it, this is a shot at a real festival stage and industry mentorship, not just another remix credit. It's also a reminder that festival programmers are actively scouting outside their usual rosters.
