If you are choosing a track to buy or a sound to build this week, the overall Beatport Top 100 just gave a clear signal: Essex producer Beave's "Zoolander", a 132 BPM minimal cut on Michael Bibi and PAWSA's Solid Grooves, is the No. 1 track on the whole store, and his August release "1997" on RUZE's Staff Only still sits at No. 10. Beatportal confirmed it is his second overall Beatport No. 1 in roughly two months.

How it got there
Beave told Beatportal he made "Zoolander" on the way to a London gig, simply to have something new to play that night, then sent it to Michael Bibi, Chris Stassy and Rossi. Their repeated support built demand for the ID until Solid Grooves released it at the end of October. He credits that DJ support, plus the online buzz still surrounding "1997", for the result after 12 years of releasing music.
What the chart says
Our count of today's overall Top 100 shows House on 31 entries and Tech House on 19, but Minimal / Deep Tech is punching above its six places: three of them sit in the top 12, with A.B.C., Rossi. and Silva Bumpa's "PEOPLE IN THE PLACE" at No. 9 and Brunello's "Clown Shoes" at No. 12. Tempo is tight: 45 of the 100 tracks run at 129-133 BPM, 64 are in minor keys, and 51 were released in October or later.
For buyers: a hooky vocal line over a rolling 130-133 BPM groove is what DJs are paying for right now, and a track that is already in DJ bags before release clearly helps. If you want to release in this lane, browse our exclusive Minimal Tech tracks for sale.
For producers: a short, chantable vocal hook did a lot of the work here. Keep arrangements DJ-friendly, sit at 130-133 BPM in a minor key, and get finished ideas to selectors early.
