The price on a listing isn't the money that reaches your account. Between the buyer's payment and your bank there's a commission, sometimes a withdrawal fee, sometimes a currency conversion, and always some waiting. If you sell tracks as a ghost producer, those layers decide what a sale is really worth.
This guide breaks down what the main ghost production marketplaces take, using the numbers each platform publishes on its own website. It also covers the costs that don't show up in the headline percentage, and how to compare offers properly.
Why marketplaces charge a commission at all
It's fair to ask why anyone should take a cut of your work. A marketplace brings the buyers, which is the hardest part. It also processes card payments, handles fraud and disputes, stores large files, delivers them, and issues the rights transfer. A producer selling directly would pay for all of that separately, starting with the audience.
So the question isn't whether a commission is fair, but how big it is, what it covers and what gets added on top.
Ghost production marketplaces compared
All figures below are quoted from each platform's own pages, checked on October 17, 2026. Platforms change their terms, so check the current version before you sign up.
| Platform | Producer keeps | What else they publish |
|---|---|---|
| Ghost Producer World | 75% up to 85%, by producer level | Prices and payouts in USD. No withdrawal request needed: each sale creates its own payout. |
| The Ghost Production | 70% up to 80%, by lifetime sales | Tiers start at 70% and rise at €5,000, €10,000, €30,000 and €50,000 in sales. Payouts within 24 hours. |
| EDM Warriors | 65% up to 80%, by lifetime sales | Seven levels, rising at €1,000, €5,000, €25,000, €50,000, €75,000 and €100,000 in sales. PayPal payouts in 1 to 3 business days; bank transfer and Bitcoin up to 10 to 15. Tracks can be removed only after 6 months. |
| Ghost Producer Tracks | 70% | 30% commission. Payments within 48 hours via Wise or Payoneer. |
| House of Tracks | 64% up to 75% | First increase after €3,750 in revenue. Payout is triggered when the buyer downloads. Tracks can be deleted only after a minimum time on the site. |
| EDM Ghost Production | 70% of the track, 50% of the DAW project | Withdrawal fees of around 4% (PayPal, Payoneer) or around 8% (crypto). Platform coupons of up to 30% reduce the payout. |
The percentage alone doesn't tell the whole story, so look at the costs below too.
The costs that hide behind the percentage
1. Withdrawal and payout fees
Some platforms charge again when you take the money out. A 70% split with a 4% withdrawal fee is really about 67%. Before you compare splits, check whether payouts are free and which methods are available in your country.
2. Currency conversion
Several marketplaces price tracks and measure their tiers in euros. If your bank works in dollars, reais or pesos, every payout goes through a conversion, and the rate you get is rarely the market rate. Pricing in one clear currency makes it easier to know what a sale is worth. Ghost Producer World prices everything in USD.
3. Discounts you didn't choose
If a platform can run coupons on your track and the discount comes out of your share, your real price is lower than the one you set. Look for platforms where discounts are your decision.
4. Tiers that are hard to reach
A top rate of 80% sounds good, but if it unlocks at €50,000 or even €100,000 in lifetime sales, most producers will spend years at the entry rate. Compare entry rates first, and look at how much you'd have to sell to move up.
5. Waiting and conditions
When does the money move? Some platforms pay within hours, some at the end of the month, and some only once the buyer downloads the files. Also check how long your track is locked in after you list it, in case you want to take it down.
6. Who pays for disputes
Card payments can be disputed weeks after a sale. Ask what happens to your payout if that happens. On Ghost Producer World, the platform is the merchant of record: once a sale is complete, the producer's payout stands and Ghost Producer World deals with the buyer.
Same track, different platforms: a $500 example
Here is what a single $500 sale pays at each platform's entry rate, before any currency conversion:
- Ghost Producer World, Beginner level: $375, rising with your level up to $425
- The Ghost Production, Bronze: $350
- Ghost Producer Tracks: $350
- EDM Ghost Production: $350, or about $336 after a 4% withdrawal fee
- EDM Warriors, level 1: $325
- House of Tracks, starting rate: $320
On one track the gap is tens of dollars. Over twenty tracks a year it becomes a real amount, which is why the fee structure matters as much as which platform has the most traffic.
How other ways of selling compare
Ghost production isn't the only way to earn from a track. The other channels work differently, so the percentages aren't directly comparable, but it helps to know them:
- Record labels. Traditional deals often pay artists 15–25% royalties, and smaller labels may offer a 50/50 split of net profit instead of an advance. You keep your name on the release, but money arrives slowly and depends on sales.
- Bandcamp. Takes 15% on digital sales, falling to 10% after $5,000 in sales over 12 months, plus payment processor fees of around 4–6%. You need your own audience to sell there.
- Beat stores such as BeatStars. BeatStars takes 0% commission on beat sales but requires a paid plan, and adds a 12% service fee for buyers on its marketplace. Beat stores are built mostly around leasing the same beat to many buyers, which is a different model from an exclusive EDM track.

How to keep more of every sale
- Compare the net, not the headline. Take the split, subtract withdrawal fees and conversion, and that's your number.
- Price with confidence. A higher price with room for offers usually beats launching low. See real catalogue prices by genre on our ghost production prices page.
- Finish to release standard. Rejected or unsold tracks earn 0%. Our guide to selling ghost productions lists exactly what buyers expect.
- Sell what's already on your drive. Many producers have tracks that are nearly done. Here's how to turn unfinished projects into income.
Common questions
What is a normal commission for a ghost production marketplace?
Based on the platforms above, entry rates let the producer keep between 64% and 70% of the sale price. Higher tiers pay more, but on most platforms you need thousands in lifetime sales to reach them.
Do I pay anything to list a track?
None of the marketplaces in the table charge a listing fee on their published pages. The cost comes as a commission when a track sells.
Do I get royalties after selling a ghost-produced track?
No. An exclusive sale is a one-time payment in exchange for the rights. The buyer releases it under their own name and keeps any royalties.
How does Ghost Producer World's commission work?
You keep 75% up to 85% of each sale, depending on your producer level, which goes up as you sell more. The current rates are always on the Start Selling page.
